The UST Golden Spikers pummeled the UE Red Warriors, 25-15, 25-21, 25-16, to secure the last Final Four slot in the UAAP Season 86 men's volleyball tournament on Sunday, April 21, at the Araneta Coliseum.

Standing now at 8-5, UST sealed the fourth seed as the Ateneo Blue Eagles (6-7) will not catch up after losing to the DLSU Green Spikers in the same day.

Josh Ybañez led the Golden Spikers once more with 18 points off 17 attacks while Paul Colinares and Sherwin Umandal backed him with 12 and 11 markers respectively.

Leaning on Colinares' eight first-set points, UST zoomed on a rousing start, unleashing an 11-3 run midway through the set to pull away with a double-digit deficit, 25-15.

After a 5-1 start, the Golden Spikers maintained their lead throughout the second set before Umandal hit the final two kills to blank UE, 25-21.

UST's control continued in the third frame as the Golden Spikers opened a 15-8 lead before the final technical timeout and coasted to a 25-16 third-set victory.

The Golden Spikers dominated the attack department with 44 attacks compared to UE's 32, ending the game in just 80 minutes.

Angelo Reyes and John Steve Aligayon each had eight points as no Red Warriors reached double-digits in the game.

UST will face the Green Spikers for their final match of the second round on April 27, at the same venue.
