The UST Growling Tigresses claimed their ninth win, 76-70, against the Adamson Lady Falcons in the UAAP Season 86 women’s basketball tournament on Sunday, Nov.12, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With the win, the Tigresses remain in contention for a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.

Kent Pastrana exploded for 24 points as she was the lone double-digit scorer for the Tigresses, while Tantoy Ferrer scored eight points and snatched 10 rebounds during the game.

The Tigresses shot 31 percent of their field goals at halftime, claiming a slow start together with their foul trouble, which resulted in Adamson's 14 points off free throws.

Adamson also executed a 17-5 run during the three-minute mark of the second period to take a five-point lead into halftime, 38-43.

Pastrana heated up in the third quarter, scoring 13 points while Adamson’s Victoria Adeshina anchored the paint to score eight points and slither in a one-point lead heading into the closing salvo, 61-62.

Adamson was limited to only eight points in the closing quarter as UST capped off the victory with a six-point margin, 76-70.

The UST Growling Tigresses will play their next game against the FEU Lady Tamaraws on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the same venue.
