UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe Cheer captain Dae Dream Camporedondo emphasized the importance of the Thomasian community’s support for the upcoming UAAP Cheerdance Competition. Coming into this season, the team captain said they are aiming for the championship once more.
“Last year, iyon po talaga ang expectation namin, [ang mag-] champion,” Camporedondo told TomasinoWeb.
With this mindset, they are aiming to bring back the crown to España with the help of the Thomasian community.
“Sobrang laking impact po sa amin ‘yon (support). Kung sa ibang games po kami po yung nagch-cheer for the other sports, ngayon po kailangan namin kayong lahat na Thomasians to cheer [for] us,” she said.
Camporedondo said that the crowd should look forward to enjoying Salinggawi’s performance as they will take the audience back to their childhood.
Their performance will follow the theme of “Batang 90s,” the team’s head coach Mark Chaiwalla announced during a press conference.
They will showcase a routine emphasizing on the difference of childhood then and now.
The UAAP Season 87 cheer dance competition will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, at the same venue.
