The UST Tiger Spikers booked their ticket to the semi-finals of the PNVF Challenge Cup after sweeping the Savouge Spin Doctors, 25-19, 25-20, 25-20, on Thursday, Nov. 23, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

The Tiger Spikers played the quarter-finals against some of their former teammates, Lorenz Senoron and Charles Magpayo, who are now part of the Spin Doctors Savouge.

UST controlled set one by unleashing powerful attacks from all sides of the court, ending with 17 attack points.

Throughout the game, the Tiger Spikers had a solid net defense, and in set two alone, UST registered nine kill blocks.

The Tiger Spikers entered the third set with momentum on their side as they led the set by as much as seven points, but their momentum was cut after the team committed numerous errors midway through.

Following a timeout by UST, the team carried on where they left off, and regained control to take set three.

Reigning UAAP MVP, Josh Ybanez, led UST with 21 points off 19 attacks and two blocks, alongside Gboy De Vega with 16 markers, and Popoy Colinares with 12 points as they head off to the semi-finals.

The Tiger Spikers will be going up against the NU Bulldogs, in the semis on Nov. 24, Friday, at the same venue. - With reports from Christian David Ruiz
