After a breakout season in the UAAP Season 85 men's basketball tournament, 19-year-old scoring champion Nic Cabañero confirmed to **TomasinoWeb **that he received interest from numerous international teams from Japan's B. League and the Korean Basketball League (KBL).

"My manager has been contacted by some teams, I'm just waiting on the details and his advice," Cabañero told TomasinoWeb.

"I don't really know din what type of offers are coming up, still waiting pa talaga. Gusto ko sana good offer and good team and gusto ko rin maging youngest import eh," Cabañero added.

According to a Korean blog from Allup Basketball, Cabañero received interest from a KBL team although it was not specified.

As of writing, Jeonju KCC from the KBL is still looking to use their Asian Quota player contract to sign a combo guard.

There was interest from KCC to sign Adamson star guard Jerom Lastimosa but negotiations have "not looked good," which might indicate a possibility that KCC is the KBL team interested in signing Cabañero.

The remaining KBL teams that have not signed any Asian Quota player contract are Seoul SK and Seoul Samsung.

It was also reported that Ryukyu Golden Kings have inquired about Cabañero with the possibility of signing with the team in the near future.

The Golden Kings currently ranked second in the Japanese B-League. Notable players currently on their roster are former Meralco Bolts import Allen Durham, former NBA player Jack Cooley, and Japanese national team member Yuki Mitsuhara.

Should Cabañero sign with any international team this year, he will be the youngest Filipino import since the KBL and B-League launched the Asian Quota player contract.

This is a developing story.
