College of Science instructor tops September ‘25 psychology boards

An instructor from the College of Science secured the top spot in the September 2025 Psychologists Computer-Based Licensure Examination (CBLE). The results were released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Friday, Sept. 26.

Czarina Joy Balbuena, a faculty member from the College of Science, led the batch with a score of 89.95.

UST recorded a 96.67 percent passing rate, with 29 out of 30 examinees passing the September 2025 Psychologists licensure exam. This is 10.31 percent higher than the 86.36 percent passing rate in August 2024.

There were only three top-performing schools: the Ateneo de Manila University was no. 1 with a 96.97 percent passing rate, followed by the University of Santo Tomas with a 96.67 percent passing rate, and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Manila ranked third with a 90.91 percent passing rate.

There were 541 Psychologist CBLE takers this year. A total of 469 examinees passed, while one examinee's result was withheld pending an investigation for possible rule violations. The overall passing rate was 86.85 percent.

The Psychologist Computer-Based Licensure Examination was held on Sept 24 and 25 at testing centers across the National Capital Region, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Palawan, and Tuguegarao.
