UST ranks No. 3 in August 2025 medtech boards

The University ranked third among top-performing schools in the August 2025 Medical Technology Licensure Examination (MTLE). The results were released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

UST recorded a score of 97.73%, with 215 out of 220 examinees passing the exam. This is 8.12% higher than the 89.61% score received in the March 2025 MTLE results.

Six Thomasians landed in the Top 10 examinees. John Christian Catahumber secured the third spot with a 92.6% score. Ernest John Gutierrez landed in fifth place, Giliah De Maliwat and Gabriel Macapagal tied in the sixth spot, Marc Napolle Zhen Navarro placed seventh, and Vincent Masil placed eight.

Saint Louis University was hailed as the top-performing school for the August 2025 MTLE with a 98.28% passing rate, followed by De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute with a 97.98% passing rate.

According to the PRC, 3,660 out of 4,720 examinees passed the August 2025 MTLE, or a total of 77.54% national passing rate.

The MTLE was held on Aug. 12 and 13 at testing centers across the National Capital Region, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
