Thomasian tops August 2025 food tech licensure exam

The University has produced 54 new food technologists in the August 2025 Licensure Examinations, according to the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Saturday, Aug. 16.

Thomasian Nathan Gordon Orencia secured the top spot of the licensure examination with an 88 percent rating, followed by Aaron Jeremiah Juson, who ranked fourth, and Nicole Anne Serafico, who placed eighth.

UST recorded an 87.10 percent passing rate with 54 passers out of 62 total examinees, ranking fifth among the top performing schools–a significant increase from its 68.32 percent passing rate the previous year.

According to the PRC, 586 out of 931 passed the licensure examinations, with a national passing rate of 62.94 percent.

The Food Technologist Licensure Examination was held on Aug. 14 and Aug. 15 across multiple testing centers in the NCR, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, and Rosales.
