The Office of the Secretary General encouraged Thomasians to participate in activities commemorating the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
“The University joins the call to remember EDSA not merely as a past political event, but as a continuing moral responsibility—an invitation to uphold truth, justice, integrity, and freedom in our time,” Secretary General Fr. Louie Coronel, O.P., said in a circular issued on Feb. 23.
A Mass organized by the UST Simbahayan will be held on Feb. 25 in commemoration of the EDSA People Power Revolution at the Santisimo Rosario Parish.
The parish will serve as an assembly point for individuals planning to join the third Trillion Peso March Movement (TPMM), which coincides with the EDSA40 rally at EDSA-Ortigas Avenue. The TPMM comes after two anti-corruption protests of the same name held on Sept. 21 and Nov. 30, 2025.
Campus landmarks, such as the Main Building and the Arch of the Centuries, will also be lit white to symbolize peace at 6 p.m.
The UST Senior High School (SHS) launched programs ahead of the anniversary at the Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati Building on Feb. 20.
In partnership with The Survivors’ Hub, a group of Martial Law survivors and their families, they organized a seminar titled, “Tao sa Tao: Diwa't Gunita ng mga Pamanang Alaala ng Batas Militar at EDSA People Power Revolution.” Guest speakers shared their experiences during the era.
The SHS HUMSS Society also partnered with the Human Rights Violations Victims’ Memorial Commission in holding the “Martial Law Mobile Gallery: The Ten Essential Truths,” featuring books and displays presenting information about the abuses to human rights documented during the older Marcos’s rule.
Two Masses were also celebrated as part of the commemoration activities by the University on Feb. 23 and 24.
