Tiger Media Network (TMN) wrapped up the onboarding season with its second Onboarding Fair, held on Aug. 6 and 7, at the UST Practice Gym. The event welcomed freshmen with a glimpse of campus life through a variety of booths featuring Thomasian-owned businesses, partner brands, food bazaar, advocacy alley, and merchants.
“All of these aimed to help new students explore the community they’re now part of,” Tiger Radio executive producer Gillian Gale Taguiam said to TomasinoWeb.
TMN said the fair was not just about the booths and performances but also about fostering connection among the students.
“As a freshie, I got to know about different student orgs and cultures from our seniors,” said Reign Villasor, a freshman Journalism student.
“It became an introduction for us about the things we can look forward to and the organizations we can be part of.”
First-year students enjoyed activities prepared by TMN, made possible through sponsorships with brands and organizations.
“What made the freshie experience at the Onboarding Fair feel more complete was being with my blockmates and playing some of the games set up by TMN,” said Journalism freshman Arianna Reese Golifardo.
Tiger Radio kept the energy high with its Tiger Radio Caravan, featuring live airings, campus updates, and appearances by the Tiger Jocks.
As part of the event, TMN has also opened its doors to aspiring volunteers through “Unleash the Roar,” which will run until Thursday, Aug. 14.
