The University of Santo Tomas Lady Booters suffered their second loss in the Philippine Women’s League 2025 at the hands of pro-club Stallion Laguna FC, 0-6, on Sunday, March 30, at the Mall of Asia Sky football pitch.
Despite garnering more chances than their last game against KAYA, the Lady Booters failed to score their first point of the tournament, with the Laguna-based squad utilizing their height advantage to garner goals.
Chandler McDaniel opened up with an early goal for Stallion, finding the back of the net in the 7th minute, courtesy of an assist from Charissa Lemoran, 0-1.
Lady Booter Christy Logastua won a free kick just outside the box to give UST its first chance in the 16th minute, with Bianca Sy stepping up to take the shot. However, national team goalkeeper Olivia McDaniel was able to fend off the attempt.
Chandler McDaniel doubled Stallions lead by setting up a 2-man play with Lemoran, putting the ball past UST keeper Lizlie Garcia in the 20th minute, 0-2.
Kala McDaniel further extended the Laguna-based squad’s lead, netting the ball off a Chandler McDaniel corner kick in the 26th minute, 0-3.
A counterattack for the pro-club saw Sierra Castles scoring her first goal of the match in the 42nd minute, committing a direct shot from way outside the box that went past UST’s Garcia, 0-4.
The Laguna-based squad found its fifth goal of the match in the 67th minute, with Kala McDaniels scoring her second goal of the match courtesy of another assist from Lemoran, 0-5.
Stallion had a chance to score another goal in the 63rd minute, however, a goal line clearance by the Lady Booters foiled the attempt.
Chandler McDaniel recorded another assist in the 82nd minute as her pass to the box resulted in Pauline San Buenaventura scoring her first goal of the game, 0-6.
The Lady Booters had opportunities to break their scoring drought in the 88th minute, but a shot from Stephanie Logastua went wide, followed by a shot by Maria Gerona in added minutes that was easily handed by Liv McDaniels, ultimately preventing the España-based squad to score their first point of the tournament.
UST will seek for their first win of the season against another pro-club in Makati FC on Sunday, April 6, in the same venue.
