Thomasian ranked second in the October 2024 Physician Licensure Examinations (PLE), results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Saturday, Oct. 19, show.
UST’s Rolter Lorenz Lee landed at No. 2 with a score of 89.25 percent.
Two other Thomasians entered the top 10, Kiel Christian Alday and Chelseah Denise Torres, secured the fifth spot, posting a score of 88.83 percent and the tenth spot with a score of 87.767 percent, respectively.
UST was hailed as the sixth top-performing school, producing 392 new doctors out of 439 examinees.
The University’s passing rate was 89.29 percent, which is higher than the 84.45 percent score in the April 2024 PLE, where 56 of 66 Thomasians made the cut.
University of the Philippines-Manila (with 100 or more examinees) and Angeles University Foundation (with 50 to 99 examinees) were recognized as top-performing schools with 96.97 percent and 90.74 percent scores, respectively.
Meanwhile, Isaac Edron Orig of Davao Medical School Foundation topped the boards, garnering an 89.33 percent rating.
According to the PRC, 3,845 of 6,600 examinees made the cut.
The board exams were conducted at testing centers in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
