Mary is enthroned to the loftiest seat beside Jesus to pour out her heavenly favors to her children’s bodies and souls, UST alumnus Rev. Fr. Roger C. Quirao, O.P., said on Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Santo Domingo Church, Quezon City.
In his homily during the annual enthronement mass of the La Naval de Manila, the parish rector shared that we receive the Lord’s graces every time, but these gifts increase along with our struggles.
“Kaya nga tayo nakakabangon dahil tayo’y pinagkakalooban ng maraming biyaya ng Panginoong Diyos,” Quirao added.
He also said that people always seek the grace of God whenever they face difficulties, which will also help them rise once again.
“There’s no way but up with Jesus and Mary, holding our hands and leading the way,” he said.
Quirao also remarked that we should treasure Mother Mary’s love as she is a gift that Jesus gives to those he loves dearly.
“Kaya naman po ay palaging panatag ang ating kalooban dahil alam natin at tayo’y sumasampalataya na nandyan palagi ang mahal na Ina para sa ating lahat,” the homilist said.
The parish rector also remarked that Jesus will not deny Mary anything since he loves her so much and she will undoubtedly receive everything she asks for.
At the end of his homily, Quirao reminded the devotees to trust and pray to the Blessed Mary since “she never embarrasses anyone and only wants the kindness and happiness of all to be granted.”
According to the parish rector, this year’s La Naval enthronement theme, “Mary: Advocate of Heavenly Favors,” resonates with Saint Pope Paul VI perpetual memorial to the Blessed Virgin Mary as the advocate of heavenly favors. - Celine Ashley Tabunda
