Four UST-Manila academic units shift to EVM for 2024 Bar Exams prep

Four academic units in the University will shift to Enriched Virtual Mode of Instruction (EVM) on Sept. 4-7, 9-14, and 16-17 in preparation for the 2024 Bar Examination, according to a memorandum released by the Office of the Secretary-General.

The academic units that will shift to online classes and remote work due to the ingress, simulation, pre-bar, actual examinations, and egress activities of the Bar Examinations are the College of Information and Computing Sciences, College of Commerce and Business Administration, Faculty of Arts and Letters, and UST Junior High School.

The UST-Manila campus is one of the six Metro Manila venues for the Bar Exam, which will be held on Sept. 8, 11, and 15.

Work and classes in all academic units will shift to EVM on Sept. 11, as it is the second day of the examinations.

The UST Hospital, Carpark, Quadricentennial Pavilion, Santísimo Rosario Parish, Hotel 1611, and Domus Mariae are only allowed to operate during the Bar Examinations.

Colleges and faculties unaffected by the Bar activities are expected to observe regular classes and office operations on Sept. 4-10 and 12-17.

The Tan Yan Kee Building will serve as the headquarters for the Supreme Court officials.

Bar Exams’ controlled area

People authorized by the Bar Examinations chairman are only allowed in the controlled area.

The Benavides Building, St. Raymund Peñafort Building, Tan Yan Kee Building, UST Main Building, Miguel de Benavides Library, and the Health Service Building are included in the controlled area.

Church attendees who are elderly and with disability are allowed in the controlled area but will be accompanied by security personnel.

Safety and Security

The Office of the Secretary-General released the designated access points and safety protocols to be followed during this year’s Bar Examinations.

These are the entrance and exit access points in the University during the Bar Exams:

  • Bar examinees: Gate 2, 3, and 4 along España Boulevard
  • Student-athletes: Gate 1 along España Boulevard
  • Church attendees, support staff, and guests at Hotel 1611 and Domus Mariae: Gate 7 along P. Noval
  • Patient and visitors of the UST Hospital: Gate 14 along Lacson Avenue - Celine Ashley Tabunda
