The University of Santo Tomas (UST) produced 139 new certified public accountants (CPAs) in the May 2024 licensure examinations, results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Saturday, June 1 show.
UST recorded a 65.26 percent passing rate with 139 passers from its 213 takers. This is lower than the October 2023 boards, where 213 passed from 277 takers, posting a 76.90 percent passing rate.
No school met the minimum criteria of 80 percent and 50 examinees in order to be listed as a top-performing school.
Nicole Gonzales (University of the Cordilleras) and Hazel Ann Sera (Polytechnic University of the Philippines) shared the No. 1 spot with a 90.83 percent rating.
According to PRC, 3,155 out of 10,421 takers passed the CPALE, with the national passing rate at 30.28 percent.
The licensure examinations were held in testing centers in N. C. R., Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga and Puerto Princesa, Palawan last May 24 to 26.
