AcadArena, the home of campus gaming in Southeast Asia, launched an initiative through AcadArena Scholarships & Aid (ASA) with an aim to help talented student gamers in need of educational, financial, or gear assistance to pursue their academic and gaming goals.
The ASA provides scholarships to students who engage in esports and gaming. Since 2021, it has supported over 1,100 student gamers with more than P3 million in scholarships funding.
Three scholarships are featured this year which caters from Grade 12 to undergraduate students from various demographics.
The first featured scholarship, Valkyrae’s Homecoming Scholarship, grants a full ride scholarship up to P180,000 to three awardees.
Partnered with renowned North American gaming organization 100 Thieves, the scholarship will be awarded to three students who aim to balance their studies while pursuing their passion in playing video games.
Also with 100 Thieves is Fuslie’s Scholarship for Women in Gaming, which grants two awardees a full ride scholarship up to P135,000. Like the first scholarship, awardees will also get a meet and greet with its namesake who is another headliner in CONQuest and a content creator for 100 Thieves.
All awardees of both scholarships will receive a meet and greet with its namesakes who are set to headline CONQuest this June 3 to 4 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay.
Fuslie’s scholarship is catered to female students in the gaming community with the goal of elevating the position of female gamers in the industry, along with speaking up against harassment and creating an inclusive and equitable gaming industry.
Lastly, the CONQuest Scholarship, open to all students from Grade 12 to undergraduate level, will be granting P100,000 to one awardee. 10 random applicants in the said scholarship will receive CONQuest Festival 2023’s Friday Pass however.
Painting junior Patricia Niña Villaber from the University’s College of Arts and Design was a recipient of the CONQuest Scholarship last January.
Applications for Valkyrae’s Homecoming Scholarship and Fuslie’s Scholarship for Women in Gaming will be open from April 4 to May 22. The announcement of awardees is on May 26, and will be awarded on the last day of the CONQuest Festival on June 4.
Meanwhile, the CONQuest Scholarship opens its application period from February 21 to May 26 with its recipient being announced on June 1, while the Friday Pass winners will be revealed on April 30.
CONQuest Festival is a gaming and pop culture convention hosted by AcadArena which will be held from June 2 to June 4 at SMX Convention Center and Conrad Manila Luxury Hotel. In 2022, Teletigers Esports conquered with a 3–1 win against the University of Batangas (UB) Brahmans in the Alliance Games MLBB.
