Teletiger Esports bowed out of gold medal contention after a semifinals loss to Ateneo’s LG Hydra, 0–2, on Saturday, June 3, during the CONQuest Festival 2023 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay.

A massive bot gap given by Ateneo was their recipe to down the first-seeded Teletigers through LG Znake’s ‘legendary’ performance of eight kills, zero deaths, and four assists in the second game of the best-of-three series.

In the second game, UST’s comp of Gwen, Wukong, Zed, Seraphine, and Soraka was outmatched by the tank-filled lineup of Ateneo through Jayce, Maokai, Malphite, Jinx, and Tahm Kench.

Despite UST’s capture of the first turret, the first blood in the second game came at the hands of LG Swapito’s Jayce after killing TGR Dane’s Gwen.

TGR had no answer for most teamfights as both their lack of damage in the early game, along with LG’s sneaky usage of ultimate skills by Tahm Kench and Malphite propelled the latter to win against UST.

Ateneo outjungled the Teletigers as they captured all four drakes and one baron to seal a date with La Salle’s Viridus Arcus in the finals tomorrow.

UST, meanwhile, will face UP’s Oblation Esports Bathala in the bronze medal match of the tournament set to be held tomorrow, 9:00 a.m., at the same venue.
