The University produced 25 out of 71 new mechanical engineers during the August 2024 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examinations (MELE), results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Wednesday, Aug. 27.
UST recorded a 35.21 percent passing rate, significantly lower than the 50 percent passing rate during the August 2023 MELE, wherein 37 passed from its 74 takers.
Batangas State University was hailed as the top-performing school after posting a 93.71 percent rating (164 passers out of 175 examinees).
John Philip Minancillo from the University of Cebu led the batch with a 90.60 percent rating.
According to the PRC, 1,144 out of 3,485 takers passed the MELE, with the national passing rate at 32.84 percent.
The mechanical engineering boards were held last Aug. 16 to 18 in testing centers in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cebu, and Davao. - Celine Ashley Tabunda
