Following weeks of bad blood, TomasinoWeb announced on Monday, April 1, its decision to begin again as the University of Santo Tomas’ official Taylor Swift fan club after enduring the great war over the last few weeks.
TomasinoWeb’s president, Jan Carlo Zamora, said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the organization had experienced a cruel summer, with its members not coping with the struggles all too well, and that this rebrand would serve as their getaway car from being the anti-hero.
“Through this rebrand, we’ll finally be out of the woods and into a new venture – capturing our wildest dreams of being able to create content centered around Taylor Swift,” Zamora said.
TomasinoWeb has been known to dress their content according to the pop singer’s branding. They have notably used The Eras Tour in their Recruitment101 website as well as for their general assembly and grand reunion’s theme. They wrote album reviews for Red (Taylor’s Version), Midnights, and 1989 (Taylor’s Version), and just recently, to celebrate their comeback after their halting of operations, the organization quoted from Swift’s willow saying that “[they came] back stronger than a 90’s trend.”

According to Zamora, even before the issue TomasinoWeb had gone through, discussions about rebranding the organization can be traced back to December 2022. He claims that around that time, everything has changed and that it was already time to shake it off.
“To our dearest TomWebbers, let’s all leave our state of grace, and be fearless. Let’s speak now even if whatever’s in front of us is bigger than the whole sky,” added Zamora as he encouraged Thomasians to also take the leap.
Erimae Lopez, TomasinoWeb’s Creative Director, expressed her most delicate support over the decision, saying that “TomasinoWeb’s branding was already gorgeous, but swifTWie just hits different.”
“I do agree that this rebrand would help the organization in the long run. Before, there was this feeling that we were dancing with our hands tied every time. But for the foreseeable future, gone were any trace of the old ways since we’re clean, and I believe we’re finally set to sing our song,” Lopez told reporters.
Zamora presented the Core Group of Officers alongside the TomasinoWeb Editorial Board with a draft of the new by-laws of the organization should they choose to make this move. The majority eventually favored the decision claiming “it’s time to go.”
One of the dissenting voices over the decision, however, was from TomasinoWeb’s Chief Technology Officer Danial Dale Santos, who described the rebrand as “high infidelity” to the supposed mission and vision of the organization.
“[You] need to calm down,” Santos told Zamora, “we can’t act hastily or else we are never ever getting back together to the way TomasinoWeb was.”
Still, members of the newly rebranded organization sees daylight and claim that with the decision, swifTWie will never go out of style.
Editor’s Note: Dear Reader, this is only an April Fools’ gag by the organization. We did not actually rebrand into a Taylor Swift fan club — or did we?
