The UST Golden Tigresses were outclassed by the Adamson Lady Falcons in three straight sets, 19-25, 6-25, 17-25 in the second game of the finals series of the 2019 PVL Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan, Saturday, October 12.

Adamson was clicking on both ends as they dominated the UAAP Season 81 Women’s Volleyball runner ups while en route to their first ever PVL Collegiate Conference championship.

The first set saw both teams starting off well, as the Tigresses were able to keep up with the Lady Falcons before they pulled away to draw first blood, 25-19.

UST however, had no answers to Adamson’s second set performance as they were evenly decimated by the Lady Falcons who convincingly won 25-6 with their red hot offense and suffocating floor defense.

The Falcons jumped out of the gates early in the third and final set as they seamlessly worked their way to championship point before two straight crosscourt kills from Eya Laure and back-to-back outside hits from Trisha Genesis and Rizza Cruz kept the Tigresses alive.

However, Cruz quickly erased all hope for the España faithful as she capped off her squad’s title run with a block to complete the sweep at 25-17.

Eya Laure paced the Tigresses with 11 points mainly through her nine spikes while rookie Imee Hernandez chipped in six markers of her own.

The Lady Falcons on the other hand were led by conference MVP Trisha Genesis and Rizza Cruz who had 14 and 10 points respectively. Cruz also had three blocks which included the title-clincher for the San Marcelino-based squad.
