The University of Santo Tomas Lady Booters suffered a defeat against the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, 1-3, in the UAAP Season 80 women’s football tournament at the Rizal Memorial Field Saturday.

Up by 1-0 in the second half, FEU’s Jovelle Sudaria ended their drought by scoring back-to-back goals in the 66th and 88th minute to grab the lead, 2-1.

“Ngayon talaga yung totoong tournament and first time nilang maranasan yun na intense yung laro, so normal lang yung kabahan sila,” she said. “Kahit kinakabahan sila, ginawa nila yung best nila.”

UST’s Charisa Lemoran drew first blood for the Lady Booters, converting her penalty kick in the 16th minute during the first salvo.

The España-based squad sustained a loss in their opening game, falling to a 0-1-0 win-loss-draw record.
