The UST Community Acievers Association (Comach), the official university-wide  Filipino-Chinese organization of the University of Santo Tomas and member of the Alliance of Filipino Chinese Students (AFICS), successfully concluded its meeting with the the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) chapter of the traditional Cultural Student Exchange last August 29 at the Tan Yan Kee student center, University of Santo Tomas.

The program entitled “Roar with the UA&Pians” was attended by 11 participants from UA&P and 40 participants from UST.

Program head and Comach Central Assistant Secretary, Gwendalyn Chan, said that this activity is one of the highlights of the organization and this event  envisions to increase the bond between the members of the organization inside and outside the university.

The Cultural Student Exchange attempts to give new and former members of AFICS the realization on how collaboration of distinct schools help build the relationships, skills, and knowledge necessary for the ongoing transformation and social changes of our society. It also helps to cultivate their sense of camaraderie with other members as well as enhance their interpersonal skills.

In the opening speech delivered by ComAch Central President Mark Cristopher Conese, he described the various conditions that supported the launching of the Comach organization as well as the organization’s current roles in building a collaboratove society.

ComAch member Jeramy Clemente headed the all-inclusive campus tour as a way of giving a glimpse of the Thomasian life to the UA&P students. Clemente provided a history of the different facade of UST as part of the tour.

Conese facilitated the consequent Team Building activities as ice breakers to the rest of the program.

The heart of the agenda was the Ultimate Amazing Race activity which was facilitated by Chan. In this division, the ingenuity and resilience of the Thomasians as well as the UA&Pians was put to the test, jumping from building to building of the UST Domain in search of clues that will lead each team to victory.

With the event’s success in student exchange program, ComAch is confident to trade next with the University of the Philippines and De La Salle University.
