AMV-COA Staged Walkout: A Fashion Variety Show

Published

on

Accountancy students showcased glamour and talent as they took a night off from computing financial accounts to strut their stuff for a variety show last Saturday, November 15, at the Plaza Mayor.

WALKOUT was the culminating activity for the AMV College of Accountancy week, which recently celebrated its fourth anniversary. Special interest groups from the college such as the Paci Rhutmos dance troupe and the Accountancy Chamber of Singers performed in the fashion show-slash-concert organized by the Accountancy Student Council, headed by Karen Perdon (Director for Human Resources) and Emmanuel Sabariaga (Director for Non-Academic Affairs).

“Walkout was actually just a word that popped in my mind because the original concept of the event was purely just a fashion show,” Sabariaga said. “The Paci Rhutmos and chorale concert was supposed to be a separate event, but then again we decided to just do it all at once.”

In between energetic performances from the dance troupe, student models took the spotlight as they paraded in pieces sponsored by Penshoppe. AMV Idol Eli Panganiban and other singers also presented song numbers. But the highlight of the event was when selected professors from the college wowed their students as they took their turn down the catwalk in formal wear.

Awards were given to Harvey Malacas and Sitty Mangotara, who won best male and female model, respectively.

The event was also sponsored by Zest-O Corporation, Graphics Bay Print Shop, Mister Kabab, Barcode Galera, Seventeen Magazine, and Red Images. The ASC was also in partnership with Tomasino Web and TOMCAT.
