“Pati kami parang na-shock bakit ganun yung nilaro namin,” skipper Cherry Rondina said.”Hindi namin ma-control ‘yung laro. ‘Yun lang ang kulang namin kanina eh, kontrolin ‘yung nasa loob.”
The España-based squad lost their rhythm in the first set falling behind by five points, 16-21. Another crucial service error from Cabanos gave Ateneo momentum, 25-20.
UST was off to a hot start in the second set until they falter behind Maraguinot’s spiking prowess, 21-25.
Laure scored game-high 17 points in a losing effort while Rondina added 10 markers. Maraguinot posted 15 points.
