UST posts lower passing rate in May 2017 civil eng’g boards
The University posted a lower passing rate in the May 2017 civil engineering licensure examinations, according to results from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
UST garnered a 44.47 percent passing rate, wherein 17 out of 38 Thomasians made the cut. This is lower than last year’s 71.43 percent or 35 passers out of 49 examinees.
Hishiam Sacar of Far Eastern University-East Asia College led the new batch of civil engineers with a score of 94.60 percent. De La Salle University-Manila was named the top-performing school after garnering an 81.90 percent passing rate.
According to the PRC, this year’s national passing rate improved to 44.48 percent with 2,514 out of 6,998 examinees passing the exam. This was higher than last year’s 38.17 percent, wherein 2,245 out of 5,881 passed the exam.
