What makes a person “ideal”?
“When I was young, I idolized a lot of people. Mostly basketball players, singers and good looking artists. As I grew older, I noticed that I idolized them only for their skills, fame and good looks. Sometimes we are all in pursuit of these superficial attributes that we tend to forget they are of lesser importance. I know this might sound cheesy but it’s who you are in the inside that counts. In order to attain our ideal selves we have to accept who we are because that is what stands out.”
How do you practice faith as a Thomasian?
“I practice my Thomasian faith by following the 5Cs. Compassion. Commitment. Conscience. Competence. Christ-centeredness. All these Cs go hand-in-hand. Balancing them is the really difficult but I try my best to live by these 5Cs because these will help mold me to become a better person and hopefully an ideal Thomasian.”
How can you promote peace in your community?
“The true measurement of a person is how he or she acts when no one is looking. This is how I promote peace. I don’t always have to do big things in order to be noticed or advocate peace. The little things, those that most people tend to overlook, are what matter. Simple acts of kindness and generosity go a long way in promoting peace. At the end of the day, when I combine these little things they add up to something big.”
Why should the Thomasian community vote for you?
