What makes a person “ideal”?
“Nobody is perfect and whatever we do we cannot attain perfection. But striving for excellence, always striving… keeping good relationship with people, and honoring God in everything we do makes a person not perfect, but pretty much Ideal. And an Ideal person, is what a true Thomasian is.”
How do you practice faith as a Thomasian?
“Faith can never be expressed or practiced by words alone. It can only be seen in our actions and in our beliefs. Life, more often than not, throws troubles and problems in our way and by trusting in God and believing that His plan for us is always good can we practice faith. True faith is not trusting ourselves or our capabilities but trusting in God who makes all things a new. I practice faith by simply always trusting God in everything that comes my way. I trust that His plans for me are the best. Often times He asks us to let go of things that are not part of His plans for us and that is where my faith is tested. In letting go and letting God have I fully expressed my faith as a Thomasian.”
How can you promote peace in your community?
“There are two ways to promote peace: either by being a peacemaker, or a peacekeeper. A peacekeeper is a person who sees the good in things and makes it his responsibility to make sure that “good” is well preserved. A peacemaker, on the other hand, is a person who’ll do anything and everything just to attain the peace he wants. Among the two I strive to be a peacekeeper by holding on to the values that has been instilled in me, by saying no to compromising things, and by being an example to those of my age, older, and younger.”
Why should the Thomasian community vote for you?
