The Engineering men’s volleyball team is off to a great start as they defeated the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, 25-17, 25-12, as part of the volleyball competitions of the Thomasian Goodwill Games at the P. Noval covered court last September 7, 2012.
Eng’g proved to be the more athletic and talented team than CRS, who had no answer for Kevin Santiago’s offensive explosion. Santiago repeatedly smothered CRS with devastating spikes from all angles.
“Di naman ako nag-expect masyado dahil first game pa lang. Kanina ang goal lang namin, makuha yung feel ng court. Kelangan mag-peak kami at the right time, yun yung primary goal,” Eng’g coach Kris Dimaculangan told TomasinoWeb.
Eng’g is aiming to improve their 4th place finish last year and challenge defending champion Commerce.
In other games, Accountancy overcame a slow start against the Graduate School to notch the victory in 3 sets, 25-23, 26-28, 25-16, while AB cruised through Ecclesiastical, 25-22, 25-16.
