New Thomasian CPAs share first place in bar exam

     TWO Thomasians clinched the top spot in the October 2012 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Examination held last October 6 to 7 and 13 to 14.

     Bren Sapnu Cruz and Celaica Castaritas Vibar shared the highest rank with 94.14 percent. Other Thomasians in the top 10 are Kervin Cortez Reyes, 9th place with 92.43 percent; Tristan John Tumangan De Guzman, and Eloisa Pornebo Galang, both 10th place with 92.29 percent.

     Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas placed third, with 93.09 percent passing rate, among the top performing schools with 50 or more examinees and attained at least 80 percent passing percentage. University of the Philippines-Diliman ranked first place with 100 percent passing rate.

     The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced earlier today the 4,772 new public accountants out of 9,987 examinees. The results were released one working day after the last examination.
