Treasurers and Auditors Congregate in “Diamonds”

To provide training for the treasurers and auditors of university-wide organizations in the annual student council and student organizations’ financial information and stability, the Central Student Council (CSC) organized a forum on Wednesday, July 18th 2012 at The Velayo-Sycup Multipurpose Hall AMV- College of Accountancy.

Lead by CSC Treasurer Joanna Loise Culianan, this year’s “Diamonds” forum focused on the financial concerns of the respective organizations and on ways to accurately manage the funds without losing the characteristics of integrity, transparency and accountability.

Those present in the event were 2007-2008 CSC President, Reyner Villasenor, Office of Vice Rector for Finance Special Funds Assistant, Rainer Salas and Campus Ministry Assistant, Albert Loteyro. Each speaker talked about requirements and tips needed to be an effective treasurer or auditor and discussed ways to the handle school budget adequately without having problems in passing financial statement.

All participants in the forum were given the opportunity to become more involved in the event through its team building activity which was headed by the AMV guidance councilors. The fellowship included games like “The boat is sinking” and “Paint me a picture” which encouraged the participants to socialize with their peers.

The event is co-headed by Students Organizations Coordinating Council (SOCC) and College of Accountancy Student Council.
