Prominent Accountant Tag UST a Top Producer of CPA’s
Mr. Baltazar N. Endriga, former chairman of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and a CPA board examination top notcher, recognized the excellence of the UST AMV-College of Accountancy as one of the top producers of CPA’s in the country during the the 3rd Washington Sycip Lecture Series held last November 13 at the UST Medicine Auditorium.
The lecture was a part of the jam-packed activities of the UST AMV-College of Accountancy week and the celebration of their 4th founding anniversary.
Mr. Endriga, being one of the luminaries in the field of accounting, was invited by the UST AMV-College of Accountancy as the lecture’s resource speaker. This year’s lecture was titled “Achieving Balance in Accounting Profession through responsiveness, transparency, and accountability.”
He noted that Thomasians are not excused to fail the board examination since much is expected of them. Passing the board examination on their first takes, he said, is very much encouraged.
Accountants are purveyors of truth, agents to clarify corruption, the ones responsible for putting order to disorder and makers of transparency in opaqueness. Those were what Mr Endriga referred to as the rigorous roles of accountants in the country.
“I challenge accountancy students to bring back the glory of Filipino CPA’s wherein CPA’s of neighboring countries in Asia would look up to you,” he concluded.
